Fowlers

These are photos of some of the fowlers that we have made in the past.

The fowlers we make are typical of English imported pieces of the 18th Century. We can make common trade type guns as well as the higher quality ones.

A Fowler by Clay Smith, journeyman

This gun is styled after an original rifle in our collection that was made using imported fowler parts. We made this one to look as if it were restocked here in America using curly maple for the stock. This one was made by Clay Smith using a handmade 44 inch long,  octagon to round barrel in 19 gauge. It has a hook breech and wedges for easy cleaning. The lock is by Jim Chambers. All other parts were made in the Gunshop.
